AJ had an outstanding forty year career as an architect working from offices in the UK, Netherland, and China, completed many notable buildings in England and projects throughout Europe and Asia.

 

Always driven by the strong credo that "we shape our buildings but our buildings shape our people." He was awarded the OBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2010 for his contribution to architecture and appointed a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of County Durham.

 

AJ was invited to chair the Trust of the BALTIC Centre for  Contemporary Art in Gateshead, England. His remit was to attract 250,000 visitors in the first year of its opening. It opened  with works by Jaume Plesa, Julian Opie, Jane and Louse Wilson, and Chris Burden and achieved one million visitors. 

 

AJ amassed a most credible eclectic collection of modern and contemporary paintings and sculpture, donated and sponsored numerous artworks and projects in North England.

John is Charles Edward Wilson Professor Emeritus at Harvard Business School. He is former Dean of the University of Miami Business School, the China Europe International Business School and London Business School. He has always been passionate about introducing the arts to business school students.

 

John has served as a director of ten public companies including WPP, at one time the world's largest marketing and media services company, Alere, Aramark, easyJet plc, Pentland Group plc, Pepsi Bottling Group, and Reebok. 

 

John is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his promotion of British business interests and prosperity.

Jedi co-founded Weibo, one of China's largest social media platforms, with over 585 million monthly active users. He is currently based in Vancouver, Canada, where he runs his startup consulting service and works as a digital nomad, managing his team and investments across Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Toronto and San Francisco. Having witnessed the rapid development of China's internet industry over the past few decades, Jedi has been engaged in personal angel investment since 2016; he has successfully invested in China's biggest online art trading platform Artand, the agency of top-listed beauty influencer Li Jiaqi, MEIONE, and he founded Gravity Ventures, which has invested the famous fintech company Airwallex.

Since 2021, Jedi has been sharing his knowledge and insights on science and technology through his newsletter "Indigo's Digital Mirror" and online courses.

 

Additionally, he has been incubating various projects and products related to SaaS, Crypto / NFTs, and AI in North America. These include Hostex, an automation management system for B&Bs and boutique hotels, the AI Lab Hallid.AI for AI services related to knowledge management workflows, iCC for corporate WeChat SaaS ecosystems, and HibikRun, a play-to-collect NFT.

 

He is currently working on a new book, "Digital Infinity" in search of outstanding entrepreneurs in the new wave of digital technology.
